Mr. Gailen has been practicing law since 1980 and has been a very successful trial attorney since the first week he became an attorney.

Over the course of the over 42 years of practice as of May 2022, Mr. Gailen has litigated more than 200 trials — including jury trials and court trials in both civil and criminal cases, and court trials in Family Law matters in particular close to 30 of those years.  Also, Mr. Gailen has litigated what could conservatively be considered to be thousands of court hearings in all areas of his practice including motions, orders to show cause, request for orders, restraining orders, arraignments, preliminary hearings, trial setting conferences, pretrial conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, final status conferences, readiness conferences, filings, hearings and trials in Los Angeles Superior Court (and almost all if not all the branch courts), Ventura Superior Court, Orange County Superior Court and most other Southern California Courts, Department of Children’s Services courts, Juvenile Dependency hearings and other types of hearings in state court, the California Court of Appeal and U.S. District Court (9th Circuit).  Mr. Gailen has also represented clients through the years in other states and federal court circuits throughout the United States — including Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Illinois, Minnesota and Colorado.

Although Mr. Gailen has been practicing law since 1980, he then formed Scott Gailen, Inc. a Professional Law Corporation in 1987 with the philosophy that clients are best served by providing them with the highest work ethic, diligence and skills to ensure the most successful results possible.

Mr. Gailen has earned the reputation for honesty and ethical behavior while zealously representing clients — and by filing the specific motions, documents and discovery — that are necessary to support their legal positions as the firm fights for their clients in each facet of their cases.
